Post Study Work Visa – cross crediting study from post graduate diploma to masters
Postgraduate diplomas at level 8 can get 1 year visas. Masters at level 9 get 3 year work visas.
30 weeks of full-time study is needed for a PSWV. This is for the course you studied. You need a student visa for this course.
Some students took PG diplomas. Then they went straight into Masters courses. They did not study Masters full-time for 30 weeks. This caused problems when applying for PSWVs.
INZ is talking with these students to sort things out. Agents and education providers must know PSWV rules. 30 weeks full-time study in that course.

If you file your application early for a student visa, you will pay the old fee but missing documentation will lead to disappointment and delays for the student.INZ will not contact you regarding missing documents. If important details are missing, your application may be denied.Please remind students that they should only submit their visa applications once all of the required information is included.
